A couple of weeks ago, we exhibited at the Promotional Optimisation Institute’s European Conference in Amsterdam. The conference is POI’s flagship event, bringing together industry leaders across broad functions such as Revenue Growth Management (TGM), Trade Promotion Optimisation/Management (TPO/TPM) and Retail Execution (REX). It was an insightful few days of learning, connecting, and sharing ideas with forward-thinking technology and business leaders in the space.
Key takeaways from the event
Across conversations and sessions, a few clear themes emerged:
- RGM teams are strong on planning, but execution is a blind spot. Many still lack visibility into what’s actually happening in the field, particularly across TPM campaigns and local market adaptations.
- There’s a growing push to bridge strategy and execution. Global teams are looking for scalable tools that also accommodate local flexibility, something that’s often hard to get right.
- Global infrastructure with local customisation is non-negotiable. This balance is becoming a critical requirement for modern CPGs.
- Data quality is still a hurdle, but expectations are shifting. The focus is less on perfect data and more on usable insights, aligned KPIs, and stronger commercial acumen, from both internal teams and tech vendors.
Remus Pop on the Future of Retail Execution
Our co-founder and CRO, Remus Pop was invited onstage to give a lightning talk. During the speech, he covered:
- How visual AI is transforming retail execution by bridging the gap between strategy and in-store reality.
- Our ability to deliver real-time, objective insights across a broad spectrum of use-cases from shelf execution to promotional compliance.
- The tangible business impact of deploying Neurolabs, including increasing compliance rates from 52% to 85% and reducing in-store execution time by 45%.
- How brands can go from blind spots to insights that drive sales, all within 20 days of implementation and measurable impact in just 40 days.

At our stand, we invited people to come and try out our image recognition technology first-hand. We onboarded 15 products within the space of 10 minutes that we then built into a display, typical to shops around the world, along with price tags that our technology could recognise.
It was also here where we showcased our integration with our partners over at Aforza, showing how, through Ava, you can get data-driven next steps in a fraction of the time when compared with traditional data capture.

Overall, it was an amazing three days, and we loved speaking to you all about utilising image recognition in the CPG space. A big thank you to the POI Institute for a brilliant event, and to everyone who stopped by our stand to chat, challenge, and collaborate.
If we didn’t get a chance to speak, or you’d like to see what we showcased, book a demo or drop us a line - we’d love to show you how we’re helping teams move from plan to performance, faster.
See you at the next one!
